breastfeeding struggle flat nipple 😭

I been breastfeeding with a nipple shield and at the beginning it was great my baby is already 2 months but i still use the nipple shield but its a struggle to put it on in public to breastfeed him because he gets all hungry and crys and crys i am a first time mommy and i was expecting my nipple to atleast come out so he can latch but he just wont try he starts crying any other ways any advice??? Are my nipple ever gona come out so i can stop using the nipple shield 😭 anyone going through this??
