VENTING A LITTLE

OKay so me and my bf have been knowing each other for over 8 years been in a relationship for 7months now and expecting our first baby together. Buttttt he has a daughter from a previous relationship. Now he did 4 years in jail and came home tried to work it out with the mother of his daughter but it didn't work. Now we together and she doesn't let him see his daughter only when she feels like it. This year (2016) was his first year home so holidays was big for him to spend time with his daughter no holiday time or her birthday which was in Jan she turned 5yrs old but she refused to answer the phone and not respond to text messages. When she do reply it's you a dead beat, broke, etc.

So about a few weeks ago she called said his daughter was crying for him. He goes to see her but before he goes she tells him that she has a bf he said okay. But why is it okay for another guy to be around the daughter but he can't spend no time with her other then at her house we have tired to get her for a couple hours to spend time she says no. I dislike seeing him hurt because that is his first born.

I have not meet his daughter yet or her not her mother just have seen pictures.

I just would like to include his daughter since she will be a big sister this summer but she not letting it happen, WHAT CAN WE DO? I just feel it's crazy
