Raleigh?

Anyone on here live or ever lived in Raleigh, North Carolina. My husband and I are from Boston and are thinking about moving down there because the houses are so much more affordable. Any tips? How do you like it there? We are an interrracial couple. I am white and he is black. Is it diverse down there?

My husband and I live in North Raleigh. We love it here. It's got the convenience of a larger city but without the insane traffic and high cost of living. Lots of restaurants and shopping, very easy to find jobs here. The crime rate is pretty low-- some areas are better than others, of course, but overall it's not terrible at all. It's also close to other great cities in NC so it's pretty convenient. We're interracial as well (I'm Asian, he's white) and we've never had anyone comment or look at us funny before. I'd say there's a healthy mix of diversity in this area.

I live about 25 min outside of Raleigh. Originally from New Jersey. Way cheaper down here! I live in farm country...tractors driving down the road type stuff and we are pretty close to Raleigh. The first couple we met were the neighbors behind us which are an interracial couple with two adorable children. So I don't believe that would be an issue!

I used to live there but also in high point and Greensboro, smaller cities (I'm black) and it was not as diverse as everywhere else I've lived(AZ and WA) and eh there's some really really nice and good neighborhoods but also some not so accepting people, it really depends on the area there are still segerated proms out there-like one but still that was only a couple years ago but then again last time I lived there was 8 years ago.
