My husband and I have been TTC for 7 months with no luck. When I was 16, I was diagnosed with
PCOS, but I hadn't been too worried about it up until my husband and I started trying. After two months of waiting to get in to see an OBGYN in my new city (I moved recently), I had my appointment today to address my PCOS concerns. It took over an hour for the doctor to finally come in and see us, but it went better than I'd anticipated! I was worried she'd refuse to help us out until I lost more weight (I've lost 50 lbs so far) or until we'd been trying for at least a year, but I was pleasantly surprised when after seeing my
bbt chart and cycle history she immediately prescribed metformin, baby aspirin, and progesterone to induce
AF (she's overdue, but
BFN). The doctor also scheduled an ultrasound to check out my ovaries next week, and ordered
CD 3 blood work. I'll be going back 3 weeks from now to hear the results and figure out what's next, but from the sounds of it, if the tests confirm PCOS, I'll be starting Femara/Letrozole pretty soon! If you've ever been on Metformin and/or Femara/Letrozole, please share your experiences, side effects, and success stories with me! Thanks!
