Does anybody else find birth stats to be strange?

I never really thought of it until today when I was scoping out birth announcements to have in mind for when baby is born, but I find it kind of weird that we announce to the world the size and length of our babies! It's almost treated like they're the biggest catch of the day or something, haha. I totally get the date and time of birth, but why do people need to know what they weighed or how long they were? I also get keeping that info for like the baby book or something, but I'm thinking I might leave it off the announcements 😂. Not judging, just curious if anyone feels the same!
