Why don't people wear earphones while listening to music at work? Why do they blast their bad tastes in music

I could see if you had your own office but damn I don't want to listen to hillbilly country and offensive gangsta rap all day.  Why don't these people have good manners and realize not everyone wants to listen to this crap???  Its distracting and annoying!

Maybe you need to broaden hour musical spectrum. . I like a little of everything. But I agree it should be in headphones for people who don't agree on music taste. Plus it's work so you should be working and some people get distracted by music or noises.

A lot of professional offices don't allow headphones, especially if people need to hear phones and such.  Music levels should be low enough not to disturb your neighbors.

One time I was doing a beautiful hike and this couple had music blaring out of their phone. It was super annoying any time they would catch up to us or us to them. I love music, but sometimes it's good to appreciate the silence and beauty of the natural sounds around you.

I worked in a small (13 person) organization and shared an office room of 3 people. One from Afghanistan, one from Bosnia, and me an American. Sometimes they played music, listened to the radio, watched soccer, or I would play my music.

I never played it blatantly high or anything inappropriate for work and my musical taste is varied across all genres. 80s pop, 90s rap, rock, alternative, radio pop, modern rap, classical, etc etc.

I never complained either because if they could I knew the right was mutual. Even if I didn't know what any of the music was saying and it was obviously another culture.

IF I had a problem then I would just ask them LIKE A PROFESSIONAL. They're your peers so you need to be an adult and converse with them like it. That's how our office was though - we are a team and can be adults and talk to each other. I don't know how you or your job are.

I can't wear headphones because I have to deal with the phone and customers when they come in. But I try to keep it low enough that only I can hear it and I turn it off when a customer comes in because you never know what you like might offend someone else. Now my boss on the other hand will have her music turned all the way up. Her office is in the back and my office is in the front and I can hear her music very clearly when she has it on.

My bf works in a factory and he isnt allowed to use headphones so he brings in a speaker and blasts his music from his ipod. Every one around him does the same thing

Uh yeah, I sit next to a 45 year old man who blasts Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Fergie through his headphones all day. He's admitted he likes keeping up on what 13 year old girls are listening to...His daughter is 6.
