Clomid round 1 worked but round 2 didnt

Has anyone been in clomid, and the first round worked just later than it was suppose to for example last month I was on round on and ovulated on day 18 after 3-7CD of treatment... I was in 50 mg. I was increased this month to 100mg because I just wasn't ovulating soon enough for my RE's liking. So round 2 in an increased dose I didn't ovulate ( I'm on CD 23). Has this Happened to anyone else?
