Godparents

I'm more religious then my husband.  I go to church when I can.  I'm catholic.  I truly believe deep down all religions are pretty much the same with the same values.  However I was raised going to catholic school my entire life so certain things I strictly inforce such as like no meat on fridays (every darn Friday during lent).  If not for a funeral or wedding I couldn't tell you the last time my husband just went to church.  I don't want to pick our siblings as Godparents because I feel they will automatically have a bond with them- plus my brothers aren't religious.  His sister & husband are but then I don't want my brothers to feel left out.  What did you base your criteria on?  Who did you pick and why?  I know it's stupid but I want someone who will be close to my daughter, who will have the same ideals, and it isn't just a title.  Again like I said our siblings will automatically be her aunt/uncle.
