anyone's babies diagnosed with silent reflux?
I'm wondering if my baby has silent reflux. He's not vomiting or spitting up large amounts of milk..... he does spit up occasionally but nothing that would normally concern me. What does concern me is that he's eating a TON. He's formula fed and eating WAY more than the recommended amount for his age and weight. He'll drink a 5oz bottle and still show hunger cues and cry til I feed him. He attacks the nipple like I've never even fed him. I'm feeding him according to his hunger cues (like everyone says to do) but I'm wondering if he's not really hungry and he's feeding for comfort... like the milk going down his throat makes it feel better from reflux. He does sometimes cough during feedings but I always thought it was cause he was getting too much milk too fast. He also gags occasionally like he's either got a dry throat or a bad taste in his mouth... he also gets the hiccups very frequently. He's 5 weeks tomorrow but I don't think this is a growth spurt because he's eating even more than I think a baby going thru a growth spurt would. He'll be done and once I burp him he wants more. He cries all the time almost unless he's being fed or he's asleep. I get some rare moments where he's awake and looking at me and listening to me talk to him. I feel so bad if he has reflux and is constantly in pain.
Anyway what do you all think? I'm calling his doc once they open to make an appt. something just doesn't feel right!
