Can Braxton Hicks be felt at 18 weeks? & what do they feel like?

I just had a serious cramping feeling all over my belly and I had to stop for a second until it went away. It wasn't painful but it was uncomfortable. I don't know what BH feel like or when they start because I'm a FTM. Can anyone give any insight? Thanks (:

I've had some cramping in the past couple weeks, very intermittent and not painful just more like an overall warm feeling in my abdomen. Like when you feel your period is about to start. It's only happened a few times and wasn't enough to concern me but I did mention it to my Dr and he said it's braxton hicks. I'm 18 weeks now. I'm a FTM too. I guess they normally start around this time.
