Do you get along with your SO's ex?

Question

My fiance has a baby from a past relationship. She is two and so precious! I'm just wondering am I the only odd person that actually has a friendship with their SO's ex?
 We get alot great, text daily, call eachother. She just found out she is pregnant again and told me before her family and boyfriend and I'm so excited for her growing little family! My fiance thinks our bond is a bit strange so I'm coming here to ask, I seriously can't be the only one!!

It's very healthy and admirable that you have a good relationship with his ex especially since they have a child together. It's important for kids to see that just because their parents aren't together anymore or that their parents are dating other people doesn't mean they can't all be friends.

No she makes my life a miserable hell and tries to get my daughter in law to hate me. She's succeeded with her son who my husband raised as his own. Ugh if I wasn't married to such an amazing man and I love my stepdaughter more than life itself, I would've left this relationship years ago.

I put no but that's because my husband's last ex before we got together is a complete b*tch and also he doesn't have any other children besides our 1. If he did have a child before we got together I probably would make an effort to befriend his ex though because I don't like the idea of all the drama between parents I would want the kid to see us all being nice and stuff. I really admire that you guys can have such a close bond it's really mature and great for children too see. I love hearing about families that the parents are with other people but are all very close to eachother it's really awesome.

It's not like I hate the girl, I have nothing against her. We just don't click. My fiancé and I have been together for 7 years (since we were 16) he was with his ex at 15, so we weren't too keen on being buddies at the time. If we see each other now we're pleasant, but we'd never hang out or anything.

Would be nice if we could get along. We are cordial but thats as far as it goes for us. She doesn't like me very much and we really have nothing in common and tries to make everything difficult for me. So we just are nice when we have to be around each other because my step daughter is there and leave it at that.

Well when my son's father and I were not together, he had a girlfriend and I got along well with her. She was very sweet and great with my son. I didn't text her or anything because I didn't want to stir up trouble, but she was very nice and we would talk whenever we were together.
