Elective Induction?

Question

Has anyone elected to be induced? My husband is military and only has a short window to be there for the birth. My OB induces at 39 weeks (the earliest) for circumstances like this. Has anyone chosen to do this, whether it be for your husbands commitments or any other reason? And how did it go?

My husband is military too & might not be here when I'm due so my doctor said if that's the case then he'll induce me at 39 weeks!

I will be induced at 39 weeks, we have to move the week baby is born and hes measuring big also.

With my second I elected to be induced at 39 weeks but my son came on his own that same day. So while I still got pitocin, I didn't need any of the other meds used for induction.  I am choosing to be induced around 39 weeks this time, maybe a few days early as my son was born with low platelets and needed a few transfusions. Everything came back negative as it being my husbands and I's blood reacting but I'm still too nervous to go to 40 weeks. My daughter came 4 days early, my son 6 days early and I'm actually kind of hoping this little guy comes a tiny bit earlier.

I did an elective induction at 39 weeks. 
They gave me the option since I was already 3cm dilated at my 38 week appointment.

Labor was long but easy
