About to strangle my coworkers!
Sorry ladies, but I'm feeling emotional and just need to get this out! I work with only guys (most of whom are in college) and none of them know how to act around a pregnant lady. It's like I'm some weird alien. One of them has 12 siblings and seems to think he's a expert on pregnant women (although he was number 12, so he wasn't even born yet during most of his mom's pregnancies) and if I even make the slightest mention of hurting or being uncomfortable he gives me an attitude. Apparently I have no room to complain because this is my first child and his mother was the "goddess of giving birth." Anyway, I'm a runner (I work for a running company) and since my run last night I feel like my pelvis is breaking in half. It hurts to walk or move in any way, and my chiropractor wants me to take it easy for a few days. My job is very active and there's no sitting down. So I asked if any of the guys could cover for me tonight. I got all the excuses - I'm going to a party, I'm studying for a test, my friend bought a keg - and none of them have any empathy for my situation. It's just rude. But I can't complain to them or make a big deal of it because then I'll sound like that weak pregnant woman who treats her pregnancy like a disability. Of course I don't want tons of special treatment, but cut me some slack! 😡
