Switching from consultant to midwifery

Jo

My pre pregnancy weight was very low so when I had my 12 week scan I was told I would be consultant led for the time being and will have 2 extra growth scans at 28 and 35 weeks to make sure baby is not small and is growing properly.

I've got my first growth scan tomorrow evan though I'm actually 30 weeks as they kept cancelling and changing my appointment.

I've actually had 2 private scans I'm the mean time at 26 and 29 weeks to check growth myself as I was worrying.

My baby is growing perfect on both scans and is smack bang were he should be on the percentile chart. He currently weighs 3lb 6oz at 30 weeks.

My question is when my consultant sees that my baby is growing fine will she switch me back to midwifery led there and then or will I still have to attend the second scan at 35 weeks anyway before a decision is made?

Only reason I ask is because I really want a natural Water birth with gas and air. I've planned my birth plan in my head months before I evan got pregnant and I really want to try to do it naturally and a pool. I would be devastated if Im consultant led to birth and have to give birth in a hospital bed.. the idea of being in so much pain surrounded by doctors in a confined room makes me feel uneasy.. and I will be so upset if I do all that and he comes out a healthy weight!
