cleanly children

My son is 11 months. I am a very clean person my SO is not at ALL and we argue about it all the time. When he was growin up he mom literally cleaned everything for him, his room, his plate etc. and he hasn't really adapted to being an adult yet and cleaning after himself 🙄. Anyway I want my son to be cleanly. So I'm trying to figure out how to get him started young with basic simple methods. And maybe I can apply these methods to my SO so he can figure his shit out too. 

I try to clean as I go and that's what I'm trying to teach him as well. So I'm the morning after breakfast I set a timer for 15 minutes and he "helps"

Me clean the kitchen. When I say helps he pulls things out of the dishwasher and hands them to me or he plays with the dustpan pretending to sweep. Then we do playtime and about 10-15 minutes before his nap we practice putting toys back in the toy box. Then with laundry he hands me his clothes when I out then away (he tends to unfold them in the process lol) And we tend to do that throughout the day and he is only 11 months so he doesn't actually accomplish anything but I always say things like "good job!" Or "you really know how to clean!" Or "you're so good at putting things away" etc. 

If anyone has any advice on other things I could be doing or thins I could improve upon that would be awesome. TIA
