Help leaving manic husband
I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask for advice, but I don't know what else to do.
My husband is bipolar and I've gone through a lot with him over the years. When he has been manic in the past, I have endured all types of abuse. He is a decent man and husband when he is well, but he turns into a completely different person when he is unwell. I can't do this again, not now that we have a baby - I don't want her to grow up in this environment. He has been violent in the past to me and my cat, who is now deceased because of him.
I'm a stay at home mom and I don't have my own savings. He has been out of the house mostly all week, spending recklessly and giving hundreds of dollars to homeless people (literally). He is no longer functioning at work, when he is home he never sleeps, and accuses me of being disloyal or untrustworthy.
I need to leave, but do I have the option of going to a shelter for abused women when he is not yet physically harming me... even if I know he has the potential to if he does not seek help. Indeed, he refuses treatment. What options does a woman with no money and a baby have?
