Broken up mucus plug

I lost part of my mucus plug at 32 weeks. Or at least i think i did. It was very think and about half the size of my pinky finger. My Dr said my cervix is closed and that everything looks good. Now I'm 35 weeks and i haven't seen anything else come out. I'm not freaking out yet... But I'm wondering if its normal to lose part of your mucus plug and then not lose any more of it for weeks...?
