I think so. I don't think we should have to feel pain everyday just to live. No one said life would be easy, but if it's intolerable, well then what.

That's a tough question, but I think it should be considered on a case by case basis. I don't really want to say blanket yes or no.

Yes. I'd say the same about issues with physical health. Idk where the idea came from that physical heath is more important than mental health or than physical pain is worse than mental pain. I also support bodily autonomy.

Asking me again today, i say forsure on a case by case basis and only for those who cannot be managed by medication

Although i love my mother, as of yesterday i was the last person to step out of her life to focus on my own, she is now 100% on her own with her illness in this world. Her illness is uncontrolled and making it impossible for her and i to live a semi normal life. Recently i started dealing with extreme anxiety from dealing with my mom, to the point i needed to be sedated 1 week ago in order to sleep because im up all hours of the day and night either talking with her, fighting with her, or fearing that shes going to come harm me and my children. My husband had to quit his job to care for our children just so that i could deal with my mother and everyday it ends with me sitting in bed shaking and crying until im ready for the next round. 24/7 round the clock im carrying my phone with me to either answer her calls or send the police or paramedics to her home to help her. 22 years and i nor anybody else on the face of this planet is capable of helping her. No i do not wish my mother was dead, but no i do not wish to see her struggling with her brain on a daily basis and im not capable of providing care for her anymore. This isnt something that will get better in 2 months, 2 years, 20 years or 50 years...... IM DONE, and so is she

Yes. I believe we should exhaust treatment options first, but ultimately I each individual should make their own choices about life and death.

I don't think so. If you're not in your right mind, how can you decide what you want for yourself?

So, it depends. If a person can be involuntary committed or someone can be granted conservatorship over that person, clearly they are not in a position to be able to make that decision. There would have to be a way to qualify if a person has the mental capacity to make that type of decision.
