Tattoos are basically an open wound. They will scab over and it will look like shit during that time, but as long as you don't scratch it or rip the scabs off, it will heal just fine. 
It just looks scabbed right now - which is normal.

If you rip the scabs off then you will likely yank out some of the ink along with it and it will have blank spots.

Looks like some of the scab came off too early, which is why there are some spots missing ink. After it's fully healed you should go back to the shop you had it done at for them to touch it up. Most places will do it for free👍🏼

Seems like the artist was far too light handed. I would recommend going back and having it redone.
