Membrane Sweeping?

Anyone who has had a membrane sweep , how does it feel ? Does your OBGYN offer it or do you have to ask for it ?

I had it done at 38 weeks & it did absolutely nothing for me. I cramped for a few hrs but it didn't do anything else. I had my baby girl at 40 weeks + 3 days

My doc offered it at 38 weeks. My daughter was very low and in position. There was quite a bit of pressure but I wouldn't said it was "painful." I was in labor for 2 1/2 full days after that but sure enough our baby girl arrived!

I've had it done twice, doctor offered it both times.  First time just felt pressure because she couldn't get a finger tip through, second attempt a week later went better because she could get through and felt crampy the whole time not really in pain but defiantly uncomfortable. My due date is Thursday and if baby isn't here I'll be getting done again
