When do they take catheter out after c-section?

Will they do it while I am in recovery? Or will I have to wait till so long after?

I had to walk before they removed mine. It was about 24 hours before they took mine out.

The nurse took mine out right before she had me walk for the first time. My csection was at 12:30 pm and it was around 10-11 pm when she removed it.

When the epidural wears off. I can't remember how long it was but they'll do it before they make you walk

I had to walk before mine was taken out - I did little circuits of my room while carrying the bag to show that I'd be able to get to the toilet then the nurse removed it - my section was at 1pm and I think it was about 7pm when I started walking.

They took mine out at about 12-14 hours after the surgery. They made sure I could pee on my own and then had me walking
If I couldn't pee, they would've put a catheter back in

My C-section was at 9:30pm and my catheter was taken out around 5pm the next day.

You have to meet certain criteria to get it taken out. You have to have gotten up and walked, you have to produce a certain amount of urine, and it had to pass the color test.  I got up and walked around 6:30am, but I wasn't producing enough urine and it was too dark for their liking. Had to continue receiving IV fluids, etc. finally around 5pm I met all requirements. Thank god because I couldn't get the compression boots off until the catheter came out and I was ready to through the little compression machine at the nurse. That was my least favorite part of the entire experience.

Once the catheter came out the measure urine volume and color for four hours.

They took it out when I could wiggle my toes and was about to stand up. They want you walking as much as possible so I reckon they do it to force you to walk to the toilet!
