Induction failure
So on Monday I went in at 630 am to the hospital to be induced. They have me change into the gown and they put the monitors on me. Then they put the I.v. in ( I wouldn't with that on my worst enemy). I have had an I.v. before and never did it hurt this bad. So I am waiting there and getting excited to finally meet my lil guy. Around 8 or 830 am the insert the first round of medication to get my cervix to open. I start getting mild contractions nothing to big. Around 12 or 1 they come and check my cervix, no progress at all, so they do a second round of medication. Around 5 or so the check again amd still no progress. So they decide to give me an oral medication. When they check me again around 8 or so still no progress my cervix has not dilated at all for nothing. Then they tell me I can try 2 more rounds of meds and then if nothing happens by 6 am they will send me home or I could go home at that moment. We decided to just go home and not risk anything going wrong.
Now by this time I felt so defeated and like a failure, but when I looked at my husband and saw that he was so disappointed it broke my heart. Don't get me wrong he was and still is very supportive of me and he denies he is disappointed but I know he is. I have a 20 year old daughter that came to visit so she can see her new brother. I was also upset because she had to go back to where she lives and never got to see him.
So now I am home waiting for either for labour to start or my doc appointment on Friday. I am only 40 weeks and like 5 days. I have tried the castor oil mixed with eggs, mixed in the "midwives brew" and nothing worked. (with the consent of my midwife)
Sorry this is long but I just needed to vent somewhere.
