nipple piercing and nursing?

I am a first time mom- almost 22 weeks. I previously have had my nipples pierced for almost 4 years. Once I got pregnant I had to take my rings out because of breast tenderness. Wondering if having them pierced previously does affect you if you nurse. I'd like to nurse, so I'm wondering what people's experiences have been if they had piercings, then nursed after! TYIA if anyone can shed some light! I've heard too many "horror stories" from people who don't even have them done/haven't experienced it first hand 😂🙄 thanks ladies!

(And no I will NOT have my rings in while nursing, I'm just asking if the piercing hole makes nursing more difficult like I've heard)

Had mine pierced for over 5 years. No issues with breastfeeding. The holes healed pretty fast too.

No it does not make it more difficult.  Milk will spray not only from the end of the nipple but out the holes.  I found it amusing when I was pumping.   Having previous piercings doesn't effect nursing at all

I had no issues. Just make sure to take them out in time to make sure they're healed enough to not have a risk of infection.

I found out I was preggo at 3 weeks 6 days I immediately took out my piercings I've been wondering if the holes would cause extreme leakage (had each nipple pierced twice )

I've been wondering the same thing! I took mine out after having them for about two years at 6 weeks. I'm 19 weeks now, and the holes have pretty much closed up, but they kinda bulge up sorta like a pimple and when I squeeze just a little, thick white stuff comes out 🤔 TMI, I know, but still makes me wonder if that will affect breastfeeding
