SO really likes it for a boy, and I like the meaning and the sound, but I worry that he'll have trouble with people pronouncing it wrong. We're only interested in the traditional spelling---but how would you pronounce it at first glance?

Its actually my maiden name and it's welsh. It is supposed to be pronounced "Rise" and then was Americanized in our family and became Rice.
