Can I test...?

Im cycle day 23 and AF is due the 28th. Ive been having strong symptoms. Heavy nausea and extremely fatigued. Last night I woke up almost screaming to rediculously painful leg cramps that I never get. I didn't think that was a symptom but my husband looked it up and apparently it can be? My question is, is it too early to test? If im having such strong symptoms, could my hormone levels be high enough to give me a positive?
