hooking up with an ex

So i got drunk around my boyfriend last night, we broke up a month ago bc he let me go bc im not fully ready for a relationship bc im still working and fixing issues with myself so we had to leave the relationship still having feelings for each other. Anyways, last night he took me home and we talked about things that I've been meaning to tell him but i just never had the courage. We also ended up talking about hooking up but in a jokingly way, but i was drunk so i said im down for it. We kissed but nothing more. He's an amazing guy but i just wanna know how's hooking up with your ex gonna go.. is it a good idea?
