Leaking?!

When does the leaking stop?? I'm leaking so bad! I bought bamboobies & they work, but I soak at least one during each feeding! Whichever side I start on, the other side is like a faucet until LO is done. Does this stop? I have to change out nursing pads multiple times throughout the day & night.

They make manual silicone breast pumps. I wish I had them sooner. It uses suction so I can feed her on one side and pump on the other while she sleeps. No noise, no mess, no assembly required! Love them! Less milk wasted!! 😍

I had the same issue but my babe is 4 months now and things seem to have regulated a little more. I still have my letdown on the opposite side she's nursing but it doesn't completely soak everything lol. And I hated nursing pads so I don't even wear them anymore but that wasn't until recently.

Counseling the Nursing Mother says that "Milk leaking from the breast can be caused by let-down, overfull breasts, too much stimulation of the nipple, over-production of milk or hormone imbalances." Note that with the exception of let-down, all other causes are not routine, acceptable reasons.

Pump the other side! Or don't pump but hook up a bottle to you to catch it all. No sense in wasting it.

Press onto your boob with your hand and that should at least slow it down. If you feel a tingling sensation that's your let down. I get it as soon as baby latches on and just hold my other boob. You look like a weirdo but it helps! And once your supply has calmed down a bit that also helps. My leaking got worse before it got better once little one starting sleeping through the night I would wake up soaking but don't anymore.

It doesn't stop 😅 lol. I'm 6 months into breastfeeding and still leak regularly. It's just something you learn to expect now. At first I was just pouring out the milk and I had a nurse suggest Lilypadz. They're little silicone pads that remind me of pasties. They stick on your nipple to prevent leaking. I went from soaking through the hospital grade pads and two shirts to nothing when I started using them. They are amazing. You can also get things to collect the milk but I feel like those are all obnoxious. With this no one can tell it's there. If I'm home and near my pump I'll just pump on that side while baby is nursing on the other.

Baby girl is almost six months I still wear nursing pads all the time (just in case) but usually only leak at night if I sleep on my side. 💦 haha
