How to choose obgyn? Plz help

Im 20 weeks pregnant and i was seen by midwife. And i really have bad experience with her i feel she is not educated well. I wanna change my doc and wanna see obgyn. Already made an apoinment but once i saw dr experience she has only 6 years of experience. Now im thinking is she good enoungh?! Plz help me how to find a good obgyn? Should i go by her experience? How to find a good one without seeing her?

My ob/gyne is pretty young, and she's been brilliant :)

In my experience with doctors, you will find younger doctors to be more attentive, will listen to your problems, take you more seriously, and more likely to be on the cautious side when something happens (they'll actually order tests, that older doctors might not bother with)

Older doctors can have a habit of either 'going on instinct' (which seems to cause more problems sometimes...) or disregarding your worries as 'doctor knows best'.

6 years is still a lot of experience. It's enough to be sure in what they are doing, but not so long that they get a 'better than thou' complex. At least give them a go, and if you have any current health concerns, voice them, and see how they react.

Just can't say this is true for all young doctors, but most that I've spoken with seem much more open to different methods. Older doctors usually have a preference of how things should be done (for example, labor methods and induction when they favor doing it) whereas my younger doctor is more open to me listening to my body and offering me options and advice on when it's medically necessary to induce. She's very low pressure since I'm healthy and is fully supportive of me laboring how I choose.

Midwives have more experience than an OB and plus you don't really see a OB unless you're high risk.
