bed time help
My baby girl is 9 months old. She's been in her own crib since 2 weeks old and has done really well with sleeping through the night. I've always just put her in her crib and she either goes right to sleep or talks to herself until she falls asleep.
3 weeks ago she got a cold, so bed time has been rough. She was coughing and making herself gag which ultimately led to throwing up. She would get pretty worked up and never finished eating and never got a full nights rest because of that cold so there was a lot of comforting.
Than a week after that we went to Florida and she slept in a pack and play next to my husband and my bed. She kind of did her own thing in there until we fell asleep. Nap time though was a whole other story. She usually fought it I assumed it's because there was always a lot going on. I guess I was wrong.
We have been home for a little over a week and honestly it's been taking an hour to get this girl asleep. She wants someone standing next to her bed the whole time. When she starts dozing off I try to sneak away, hoping she figures out this isn't lasting forever. She immediately works herself to a full blown gagging tantrum. I try to let it slide for 10 minutes hoping it fades into sleep. It hasn't she wants you in there.
I know this isnt killing her, it's just frustrating to me as a mom because she's always been so good at sleeping. Especially cause I'm sitting there thinking, did her cold and throwing up make her scared to be alone? Is she just doing this for attention? Etc.
Anyway I know this is long, but I was hoping for some input or some advice. I'm pretty desperate!!! Thanks!
