Rude customer service
I stopped by a Chinese market this morning to pick up some Asian produce. The rows are pretty narrow and with my big belly I carried a basket instead of cart. As I'm in the produce isle looking around there's an older Chinese man who's working, he's restocking the produce. The first time he tells me to get out of the way so he can get through with the produce. The rows are so narrow that we'd have to make space for one another to get through. So then I let him through and I continue to gather more greens. He then again turns to me and tells me to get out of the way even motioning with his hands, as in he was shooing me away. Turns out there was another worker bringing out some meat to the meat section. Because the other man was coming out from the door behind me I didn't know and the old man gave me a nasty irritated look. He can obviously see that the store has narrow rows and I'm struggling to get through and I'm not as quick as I can be. He didn't need to be rude. I've never been to a grocery store where the workers tell me to get out of their way. They usually work around me or politely say "excuse me" but not give me a dirty look or literally tell me to move. Being Asian myself I've experienced a lot of rude customer service at these Asian markets, the worst ones being in the bigger cities. Most times I think the staff needs to work on their customer skills. It's almost like they want you to hurry up and grab what you need, pay and leave.
I eventually got my stuff and paid for them and left. I won't be going back to this particular Chinese market.
