Who would you save if...?

Question

So my mom asked me a question before giving birth to my first & it still makes me tear up to this day thinking that it could happen... if you were about to give birth & the doctor tells your parent/guardian/spouse/whoever that if you deliver, you will die so they can either save you or the child, who would you want them to choose? I'd love to hear all answers/explanations/why's/stories/etc.
*mine, of course, was my child & I think it made my mom tear up thinking about if she had to let her daughter die.

As much as I love my unborn child and the thought of ever losing her is excruciating I would choose to live .  Husband and two other children would be lost without me and I believe if would kill them if something happend to me.  They are already here and need their mama .  As horrific as it sounds my husband and I could always try for another baby , or adopt if we wanted to expand our family.  There isn't replacing the kids mama and my husband's marriage to me.  .. this is such an awful question to answer. . I feel that either response is hard and impossible to think about.

I chose myself, only because I have other children already on this earth to live for who need their mother. With that said, if it ever came down to saving myself or my current children, I'd choose them with no hesitation.

First time around I said my child. My husband disagreed. He felt that we would be able to have another and work through it together.

This time I say me. I have another child to think about. I'm not going to leave two children motherless to be a martyr.

I chose my child. I have other children but i know they'll be taken care of. And they would be in good hands and i know i already lived enough. So my child deserves to live no matter what.

Myself. There are people in my life (family, husband, a friend) who would be DEVASTATED if I died. They would all be sad about the baby but it wouldn't take too long to get over it and the baby itself wouldn't be  a upset about dying, they don't even know of their own existence till weeks or  a months after birth. Also mother animals of some species who are faced with starvation/high streas will eat their young because they can always reproduce again later. 
Why bring a child into the world only to leave your family scrambling to take care of him/her, and him/her grow up without a mother? Much better to just have another one. I know that sounds harsh but it's what makes sense to me

I'd choose my child, but I know if it was my husbands choice he'd choose me (he said that before I gave birth to my first). He recently said now that he knows her he'd save her over me any day. 😉

My hubby when I had my accident before we found out if baby was OK he told me straight up it didn't matter what the outcome was he was just happy that I was OK that we could always make another if that was the outcome...... It was a cold truth and as I thought about it later even if the child lived it could die of SIDS ect.

I think all momma would choose to save their babies.

I know my fiancée would pick me because in his words "we can make another baby, I can't make another 'you'" and it made me well up when he said it.

As far as I'm aware though, in a situation like that, Drs will focus on saving a mother first over a baby if they HAVE to choose...

I would choose myself. I have 2 kids from a previous marriage and their bio dad is not a good parent (irresponsible, neglectful, makes terrible decisions, plus has had issues with drugs off and on), and I fear that the courts wouldn't let my family get custody over their other living parent. My kids need me. As much as I would be destroyed emotionally, I couldn't bear the thought of not being able to protect my children I have now.

I don't think I'd be able to live with myself knowing I chose to let my child die.
