Question

I've never gone to the gyno and I'm going today for a physical and to get on bc. I'm kind of nervous. Idk what is going to be done or what I really even do. Any words of encouragement ?😅 ps. Will they ask questions in front of me and my mom? Or will they ask my mom to leave or something. (I'm 19)

They are super nice and professional. I'm 18, I've gone a couple times. Idk about your mom, I've always driven to my appointments alone, but I'm guessing they'll ask her to leave. You could always ask her to just wait in the waiting room too if you're uncomfortable! She'll get it. It's like getting your teeth cleaned at the dentist, but for your vagina. My suggestion is afterwards go treat yourself to coffee or cocoa or a smoothie or something to reward yourself and give you something to look forward to after! I always shave/wax before my appointments and wear presentable underwear too. I'm sure the doctor doesn't care, they've definitely seen it all, and it's not like shaving is any more clean/better than not shaving, but it make me feel less self conscious personally. Good luck 💜
