Birth Announcements: If your mom or another loved one took it upon themselves to create birth announcements for your first child would you be mad?

Create the announcements to show me and see if I like? Na. That's a nice gesture. Take the liberty of announcing for us?! I'd be livid. Although, If it was my mom-in-law I would be okay. My husband's her only son so any grand babies are going to come from us. I can't blame her if she gets swept up in excitement.

My mom announced my 2nd pregnancy on Facebook before my husband & I had. She used the ultrasound picture I sent her & did not ask permission. We have since done our own announcement, but I'm honestly still annoyed that she thought this was ok.

Creating is one thing distributing them is another.

I wouldn't be upset if they created it for me. I would think it was nice and cute, and less stress for me. But if they distributed them I would be upset.

I think I would be more hurt than angry. I am an amateur photographer. I also spend a ridiculous amount of time getting the "perfect" baby pictures and designing my announcement cards on Shutterfly. 
But they are expensive so if say my mom or MIL wanted to do a few of their own for family I don't know as well then I wouldn't mind as long as I was asked first. 
Last time my MIL kept asking for 2 or 3 more every few weeks. Even after I had already asked and given her the amount she requested. It's easier and cheaper to order it all at one time imo.

I tend to think the best of people. Especially people I love. If someone announced something or shared something about my baby I would think it was because they were excited and wanted to share with the world, not that they were intentionally trying to hurt me. Also, if I'm sharing news and want to be the one to do it I tell people that up front so there is no confusion. If I didn't specifically say 'wait until I share this' I wouldn't be upset.

I didn't want the hassle of making announcements for my daughter, so my mom made them. I was pleasantly surprised
