unexpected csection

It's been 1 week since I gave birth to my healthy, beautiful baby girl.  I'm a first time mom.  I'd been having back pain when I was sitting in a car (driving especially) so I didn't think anything different the day I went into labor. I was 39 +3. The only reason I went to the hospital is because I had blood coming out. The nurse told me I was probably in labor, go to the hospital.
After being at the hospital for an 4 hours, I only dilated an extra 1/2 cm. I was already at 1 cm for a few weeks.
As I was getting ready to leave the hospital I started having pain that felt like a UTI.  One nurse thought my baby might have been sitting on the bladder funny. I went home, and the pain only got worst!!! So bad! But it was mostly in my back and each time I felt the pain, I felt like I had to pee. Finally, at 11 PM I called my doctor's office because I couldn't sleep and I couldn't take the pain. She told me to go the hospital and as I was getting ready to leave I threw up 3 times!! Yes 3 times!
I got to the hospital and threw up as I walked in. They immediately got me to a room and sure enough I was dilated to 4 cm. The back pain/UTI feeling = CONTRACTIONS.
I got the epidural. The next morning my dr broke my water, but more than 12 hours went by and I only dilated to 8 and I wasn't changing.
Even worse, the epidural was having no impact on the hip pain I was experiencing. The doctor didn't think my frame was big enough for the size of my baby. And I had to have a csection.  I freaked only because I wasn't really prepared mentally. Everything had gone so perfectly with my pregnancy. She turned 2 months before. I never had high blood pressure nor gestational diabetes.
I went ahead and said yes to the csection.  It took 45 minutes total and she came out perfectly, butl recovery hasn't been fun. I can't walk up and down stairs too much. No driving for 2 weeks. Thank god for my husband and mom.
I share my story in hopes someone else wondering what those pains are is informed. I know I was always seeking out answers as to what I was feeling.  Best of luck to everyone!
