my week from hell. emergency surgery.

Katrina
As if it weren't bad enough that my best friend was killed in a rollover car accident this past Saturday. And my husband was in the car with him. And came home with only a sprained ankle and some bruises. His visitation was yesterday. His funeral today. I was asked by my best friends mom to speak at the funeral. Well the funeral was at ten thirty this morning. I ended up in the emergency room at 0530. I'd been rolling back and forth in bed in excruciating pain for three hours. I had been having this pain off and on all week. And spotting at the same time every night. Same amount. Well they did an ultrasound this morning. Wouldn't talk to me wouldn't look at me. The whole 45 minutes. Doctor finally came back in and said well it's an ectopic pregnancy. Possibly ruptured we don't know yet. You need surgery. Immediately. I started balling. By this time it was after 0800. I knew I wasn't going to make the funeral. Right about ten they finally had all their ducks in a row and put me fully under general anesthesia. I woke up they told me they'd had to remove my filopian tube. Along with my beloved child. And they had to drain 3 liters of blood from my pelvic cavity area. I am lucky to be alive. And I'm certain I owe it all to my best friend. Yes I had to miss his funeral, but he saved my life in turn. I was only a few weeks as far as I'm aware. 3-5 weeks. They think I started bleeding Saturday when I suddenly had excruciating pain in this one spot. Since then the pain was in the same spot too. This has been especially hard on my husband. He had to put his best friend of ten plus years to rest. He almost lost his wife to internal bleeding. (I was told if I'd waited til after the funeral I'd have been steps from deaths door). And he lost a child. I just needed to share my week from hell.
