has anyone lived alone at 21?

Hi so I am transferring colleges. The area my school is expensive to live in. I found a condo that would cost less per month 20 minutes away. It's all new and gated. My parents would help me pay of course and would pay the mortgage part of owning it. But I would be alone. I guess it's just an adjustment but I would be close enough to coming home on weekends (an hour and half). What do y'all think? I have had a roommate when I was 18 and it was a good/bad experience. I like to go to bed early like things neat and many people aren't like that. What would you do living on my own and paying for the condo would be around 1000 a month vs 1500 +utilities. I plan to stay here for 7+ years and live the area. My bf would graduate in 1.5 years so then he would live with me. It's just a transition time before then. Can I do it? I think the idea of having my own place, decorating ect would get me over the quietness.
