questions about Evelyn

I know this may be silly but is the common way of pronouncing Evelyn eve-LYN or more like eeevalin. My SO loves this name but I have a terrible name association. I have a great aunt name eve-LYN. This woman is next level, she is about 80 with a dyed purple grandma hair, she is super wrinkly but orange with spray tan, she smokes about a pack a day and Layers that hot pink lipstick on like 30 times a day- also all over her teeth. She is also a heavy drinker, very cynical and thinks the government is out to get her. Everything is a scam, she doesn't speak she yells and to top it off my family is from Trinidad so she has a very strong yet very unexpected West Indian accent. So ya.... eve-LYN is a no for me at this point.😬
