Does a baby shower have to be all women?

So I know that there are baby showers with women and I guess diaper parties with men? Does it really have to be two different things? I can already see myself deviating from the traditional "baby shower". Maybe do a cookout and have some family fun games rather than the "taste my poo-y diaper" or "paint a one-sie" type stuff (okay maybe the one-sie thing would be neat). Not that I don't think it works for some people. I just can't see sitting around with a bunch of chicks for a few hours. 😂

This is my 3rd baby but my husband's 1st. I have had friends throw a shower for each pregnancy and I always included the spouses of my female friends, and the male friends of the child's father. This time our church is throwing our shower but I know that my hubby and my father will for sure be there.

I'm doing a family BBQ. With all of the hubbies and brothers. I don't get to see them often so this is a perfect excuse to have everyone together. Also I am going to throw in an area with more guy things.

We had a Baby-Q with our first, it was men and women. We did it at a park, cooked out, and had games everyone would enjoy, like, cornhole and the price is right. It was low key and a lot of fun!!
