inexpensive boyfriend gift ideas

so i'm just finishing my first year of college and because i'm on a scholarship that's academic based my mom didn't want me to work (at least not for the first year) because she doesn't want me to be too busy and not keep my grades up, and she would just help me throughout the school year until i could work during summer. my boyfriends birthday is at the very beginning of summer so if i don't really have money to order him any expensive but i don't want to wait last minute to get him something. I've gotten him very little things so far, like i got him a keychain of Maui's hook from Moana because he REALLY loved that movie, and like one of those leather strap bracelets that i got as a free gift but i want to get him something more, at least one or two things, but when i ask him he says nothing. so i need inexpensive ideas, he'd consider himself a nerd, he's into comic books, superheroes (spiderman is his favorite), he likes to do cosplay stuff, he's 21 but i'm only 19 so i can't buy him alcohol but he's not much of a drinker anyway so i don't think he'd like that, he likes video games but he's picky about his games so i'm hesitant to get him a game that he wouldn't like, i've been thinking i could get him a headset for when he plays with his friends because right now he has like these old earbuds and one of them doesn't work and he tried to use my Beats headphones but for some reason the microphone didn't work but i don't know how expensive video game headsets with the microphones are and which ones are good, if anyone knows i'll take suggestions on what kind to get. he's really simple with how he dresses so i don't really think he'd want any clothes except maybe a graphic tshirt which i might throw in there, but yea i'm open to suggestions
