I told my boyfriend I loved him, and he didn't say it back

I told my boyfriend I loved hi m the other night, it s been bugging me to say it bc I've known for a while. He is literally the best thing to happen to me in a long while, aside from my daughter. We've been together about 5 months. And knew each other for about another 6 before that. I was leaving and he walked me to my car. I asked of i could tell him something and I got on my tip toes and whispered it in his ear. He just kinda laughed kisses me real hard and I hurried and got in my car. He sent me a long text about caring for me and now he tries so hard to let me know he cares. It's making it so much worse. Like I know you aren't in love with me, that's fine but don't keep reminding me please. I don't regret telling him, it's how I feel. I wasn't trying to pressure him to say the same, I know he cares a lot about me. For example; we were texting and he got home from work and I said "lucky, I wanna be at home" his response? "More like I'm lucky to have you in my life"
