Breastfeeding and depression...

Can breastfeeding cause depression? I've been so upset about breastfeeding because it's draining all of my energy and then I become super bitchy and my husband says I don't seem like myself. We did half formula yesterday and I was much happier and my husband and I didn't fight and I felt like I was happier with my baby.
