Where would it be healthier to live?

I was healthiest when I lived in the city. I didn't own a car, so I walked everywhere. I was privileged to live near a weekly farmers market, so I bought healthier food. I was in my dance community, so I had more friends and more exercise.

It depends on how you define "healthy", and what parameters you use.

For me it is unquestionably mentally healthier to be in a large city. On a physical level I also have the ability to walk pretty much everywhere and access to diverse fresh foods.

I suppose the air quality is better outside a city, there's less light pollution, and probably a lesser chance of being shot minding my own business. That's really all I can think of off the top of my head.

For me personally, the city. There's more opportunities for healthy eating and exercising and whatnot, while in the country we had very little available and just kind of sat around all day.

I chose city because I'm a SAHM, and when I lived far away from the city in the middle of nowhere I sat at home all day and was depressed. Now, I live close to everything, I feel comfortable walking places, and I am much more active. And I'm also able to buy mostly organic food because I have closer access to healthier options (farmers markets, Whole Foods, etc).

For me, the city is healthier for me. Back at my parents​ house, I barely went outside and felt more isolated since it was in a rural area. With my driving anxiety, I didn't do much.

I walk more now, and go outside a lot more!

I prefer rural areas far away from people and concrete. We currently live in the suburbs and are trying to prepare a move to Alaska. Ideally we would own a homestead up there but we might not be able to afford the land anytime soon. My dream is to have chickens and a cow or two and giant garden.

I've lived in all 3 california, Pennsylvania and Washington state and I can say I prefer rual/country area I feel safer, cleaner air, less populated etc.

Rural. I've lived in the city before & it's overcrowded & the air is polluted. Living in rural areas you have space, trees, fresh air, better food, & lakes all over that you can fish in.
