Picking up dog poop?

My fiancé and I are having an argument over who is supposed to pick up the dog poop. Normally, I wouldn't have a problem doing it but since getting pregnant, that was on the list of things I shouldn't do that was given to me by my doctor. Basically it said to avoid any animal waste of any kind. He doesn't believe me and thinks I should do it anyway. Because I "ask too much" by asking him to do it since he also works. But I work too, just part time instead of full time but while he's working I keep the room clean. I throw away his pop cans, take his dishes to the kitchen, and wash & put away his clothes. But he can't pick up the dog poop and clean out the litter box (the only other think I ask him to do). Who's right in this fight? Is it really safe for me??
