Why Is everyone so against fidget spinners?

My brother brought one and I thought it was pretty cool, but I've noticed on Facebook there's loads of people slamming them, what's wrong with them?

My fiance has quite severe ADD and can't keep still so I was considering getting him something like this?

It because kids in school and stuff aren't using them as they're supposed too. They're doing tricks and becoming a disruption. I have one myself and god does it help my anxiety when I go out in public. 
When I talk to people I constantly pull and twist my fingers. To the point they are raw, so I I think they are great but kids are abusing them.

Because 2017 is the year to get bent out of shape about every little thing. Seriously.... I know people that were whining about April fools day this year. 😅
I personally don't see the appeal of fidget spinners, but I don't see the appeal of toe rings either. If it helps people concentrate, awesome! If people just want them because it's the "cool" thing to have, whateer! 
You just shrug your shoulders, let people have their likes, and move on! 🤷🏻‍♀️

People complain because they aren't meant for all kids to have. Teachers give them to students with ADHD,ADD and other students with problems paying attention. But kids bringing them to schools, messing around, and effectively getting them banned from said schools is a huge problem to the kids that actually need them.
