ppd and breastfeeding?

So I'm pretty certain I have ppd/anxiety. I have many of the classic symptoms and think I may benefit from medication. Is anyone nursing and on meds? I will be seeing my doc soon but just wondering if anyone is nursing and on meds and if so, what kind and are there any side effects for you, baby, or on your milk supply?

I just had this talk with my doctor there's two out there that are breastfeeding/pregnancy safe one is called citalopram, can't remember the name of the other she said there was lots of research done to make sure they are safe so I feel confident that is have to take them my baby will be okay to breast feed

Google lactmed, it's more of a fancy website but if you know the name of a med you think you might like to try out put it in and it'll tell you how it'll affect your breast milk and if it'll affect the baby and sometimes gives you better alternatives.

Totally depends on the medication. Some meds, like Prozac,  have been tested long term and are deemed safe for breastfeeding. Some haven't had any long term tests done and the effects are unknown.
