What does early labour feel like?

Im just wondering what its like at the start for those of you who have had kids, was it painful to start off with? Did it feel like it was going to go away but didnt? How long did that first stage last? Or anything else you can describe it as would be helpful .. thanks x

I had prodromal labor. There really wasn't much difference between that and early labor. My early labor was slightly more painful and woke me up out of a sleep instead of disappearing when I fell asleep.

Even if you don't know your early labor, you will eventually know for sure. You will feel it and it will get strong.

You'll know it if you have regularly occurring contractions that last 60 to 90 seconds. They get closer together and stronger as time passes.
The contractions are from the top of the uterus to the cervix sometimes wrapping around the back.
