convertible carseat preferences

my daughter will be here in 2 months and I'm NEVER doing the infant bucket seat again, we're going for convertible right off the bat. I have an almost 2 year old and will not be dragging that thing around again lol

I know of brands like britax, dionio, maxi cosi, clek and those are great but this is a car seat that will be going in my SOs car so overly priced isn't exactly in need because he'll rarely be with them

as for Graco, Evenflo, safety 1st etc those brands I'm interested in which ones you put your newborns in and how you liked or didn't like them (:
