Weird period TMI (no photo)

I stopped taking my bc on Sunday may 14 in order to get my period. It started yesterday (Thursday) which is normal because I generally go 2-3 months before breaking for my period. But when it started it was like.. Brown/old blood. Normally that happens at the end of my period? So I'm confused if I should even consider this as my period or if it just went kind of weird this cycle lol. This ever happen to anyone?
