I want more than anything to share my experience to help other women.
Since about the 10th week of pregnancy, I cramped. Period like cramps.
I knew pregnancy cramping was normal, especially in the first trimester. So I didn't think anything of it!
However, as time went on my cramps would get worse and would come fairly often.
No blood or no abnormal discharge.
Well I decided to go to the hospital one night because along with my cramping, I noticed some watery fluid. I was 27 weeks.
I get there and find out that these cramps I've been having have not been normal and that I should have came in earlier.
Turns out, my cervix was anterior and 70% EFFACED! I was also dilated to a 1.
She said my cramps are most likely my cervix softening or effacing.
After being monitored for hours, they sent me home on bedrest.
She said to make sure I go back anytime I get my bad cramps so they can check and see if my cervix is getting more incompetent.
Please, don't convince yourself that something is okay even if it is likely to be.
It does not hurt to go check...
I'm the type of person that won't go to the hospital unless I know something is serious. Well now I won't ever think that way again. I went to the hospital mostly for fear of fluid only to find out the fluid was normal and that I have a whole other issue!
