v-bac ? has anyone had this procedure or will be having this procedure?

I had a c-section with my first born and I want to try the v-bac but one doctor told me it's risky my c-section wound/scar could rupture.

I'm having a vbac at home with my midwife, the risk of uterine rupture is so low, and it IS Safer to have a vbac than a repeat c section, the risks for a c section are way more.

I had an emergency c section in 2007. I'm having a vbac with this baby. My Dr has performed an insane amount and is highly recommended. There is always risk with major surgery and with each section risks increase. Vbac friendly hospitals have to have ORs and the correct staff ready at all time in order to get the baby out in case of a rupture. I'm extremely confident in my Dr and the information he's given me on VBAC vs repeat section.

I  am in no way trying to persuade you one way or another. But being an OR nurse and watching a uterine rupture occur and the skill that is required to save both baby and mom is chilling. I'm interested in those posters who have said that a repeat csection is more risky? Where did you get this information? Yes, you should limit the size of your family for safety reasons if you have had sections, after 3 the risk is greatly increased for rupture. But I just would want you to have all the facts. doctors are not "trying to scare you". They are allowed to be concerned about the risk you are putting on yourself and your baby when they treat you. Some doctors are more willing to take the risk. Others are not comfortable for any number of reasons. I am personally choosing a repeat csection because it is what is safest for our family now and in the long run. But if I really wanted a vbac, my doc would let me. There is another doc I work with that would persuade me it's not worth the risk to myself or my family. So ultimately, it's about your priorities and not about a doctor trying to push something on you. If you want a vbac, try for a vbac. Your doc is going to do everything they can to ensure you have a healthy baby and safe delivery in the end.

I had a c-section with my first but I can attempt a VBAC if I want to with this pregnancy. The only way I was told it wouldn't have been an option for me would have been conceiving soon after delivering my first. Did your doc mention what aspect of your pregnancy or previous delivery makes you a risky case?

I'm thankful you made this thread. I might have to have a C section next month with my first and I'm really unhappy about it. We want several children and I know some doctors try to push continued C sections but I want to have a natural birth experience.

My first child was born by c-section, and my next 2 children were vbac. They told me there was risk, but didn't discourage it. I'm 35wks with my 4th and doing another vbac. If you want to, definitely try
